Day to Day Itinerary

Our meeting point will be in the city of Madrid (metro station ‘Chamartin’) at approximately 9 a.m. From there the group will be transferred to the city of Sarria (Lugo) in our private vehicle.

During the transfer we will stop in several interest points worthy of admiration:

We will visit the beautiful city of Astorga, situated in the province of Leon, which offers a very rich medieval legacy given its location: the crossing between the Camino de Santiago and the 'Vía de la Plata' route.

We will have a welcome lunch in Castrillo de los Polvazares, also a town in the province of León considered an artistic-historical center where we will taste the most traditional dish of the region: 'El Cocido de Maragato'.

Another necessary stop is O Cebreiro, which is the beginning of the Camino de Santiago in Galicia. This town is located 1,300 meters high, where we will see 'Las Pallozas' (constructions of stone and hay) presumably of Celtic origin. Stone houses that remind us of the past are also the main buildings of this mountainous area.

Finally before arriving in Sarria, we will visit the Monastary of Samos, founded in the 6th century. Here you can find several architectural styles: late Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque.

We will start the Camino which we will do for a total of six days. We will cover a total of one hundred kilometer, with an average of 22 kilometers the first five days and 5 kilometers the last day.

Sarria- Porto Marín (17.7 km)
Porto Marín - Palas de Rei (24.3 km)
Palas del Rei - Boente (21 km)
Boente - Salceda (19km)
Salceda - Monte de Gozo (23.5 km)
Monte de Gozo -Santiago de Comp. (4.4 km)

The arrival to Santiago is calculated before 11:00 am, so that those who wish to attend the pilgrim mass and perform any pilgrim rituals like hugging the Apostle Santiago can do so. We will be able to enjoy a free day to visit the beautiful city of Santiago and have the rest of the day free. The last night we will have a divine farewell surprise accompanied by dinner.

In the morning we offer a guided visit through Santiago for our group. In the afternoon, our tour comes to an end.

Meals, Accommodation and Walking

Meals: We have selected the included meals carefully so you have a taste of the most typical, most delicious cuisine. For the few meals that aren't included, depending on your tastes and preferences, you have a chance to experiment and choose on your own.
Vegetarians, vegans, or those with a gluten-free diet can always find suitable options. Just let us know before hand and we will be happy to adjust to your needs.

Accommodation: All our accommodations are carefully selected, charming manors or hotels with quality en suite bedrooms found uniquely on the Camino. They are traditional Galician houses, usually in rural spaces, that used to be the home of important people in the community in the past such as kings or noblemen.
They form part of the cultural experience. Usually they are located in privileged areas surrounded with green, peaceful scenery. We know all the owners personally, and you can be sure you will receive the personalized attention and service you deserve.

Walking: You walk at your own pace. There is no one you have to follow or walk with. We have meeting points along the way where the support vehicle is waiting with snacks, fruits and water. We also offer assistance for any unexpected circumstances or simply to relieve muscular pain or cure blisters.
If you do not want to keep walking for any reason, you can hop on the support vehicle or be taken back to the hotel. You mustn't worry about getting lost as the yellow arrows always lead the way. Moreover, on the Camino you are never alone.
After the daily walk you will have a much deserved break. In the afternoon, pilgrims who wish to do so can visit places of interest found in the area.

Means and Assistance

  • A vehicle for logistical support will be available during the entire route. It shall be of help not only for the pilgrims in transit but for the transport of luggage and to cover any other needs that might arise along the way. It will have fruits, snacks, water, medicine, first aid kits and everything necessary for unexpected situations..
  • The luggage will be transferred from hotel to hotel by the support vehicle. For the walk a backpack of about 20 to 25 liters is suggested, including space to take a cámara, water, and personal objects.
  • Mobile phones with a Spanish line will be handed out for the period of the tour for every 2 or 3 pilgrims. This will allow you to communicate with the driver or guides for any reason at all times. The number can also be given to family members back home to receive phone calls.
  • We will send you a list of recommended clothing and items to bring along on your trip with us.
