You will experience why the Ribeira Sacra is a paradise for the senses! This region located on the banks of the Sil and Miño rivers has an abundance of Romanesque monuments and ancient vineyards.
You will enjoy a marvelous gastronomic and wine experience where you can discover the exquisite flavors that the regions of Castilla y León, El Bierzo and Galicia have to offer. After our arrival in Santiago we will have an exclusive visit to Finisterre where we will eat a spectacular seafood lunch with the best local products.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Meet in León.
Guided visit in the city

Our meeting point will be in the beautiful city of León at the Hotel at 4:00 pm. We will enjoy a guided visit through this beautiful city, after which we will return to the accommodation for a welcome cocktail followed by a wonderful dinner where we will sample some of Leon's wonderful culinary delicacies.

Day 2

Day of visits in El Bierzo

We head from León toward the region of "El Bierzo" stopping at the historic "Puente de Orbigo" bridge & the beautiful city of Astorga. We visit historic places such as Rabanal del Camino, Foncebadón, and the famous "Cruz de Ferro" (Iron Cross). We will meet a real Templar Knight at the Pilgrim's hostel in Manjarín. We will then enjoy lunch in Molinaseca to sample the local flavors enjoying a private wine-tasting in an eco-vineyard specializing in the Mencia and Godello varieties.

Day 3

Experiences in the Ribeira Sacra
Light walking

We now head to the Ribeira Sacra, right in the heart of Galicia. This place is a true treasure, where we will be able to feel the magic and history of a region that has been amazing humanity since Roman times. We will do a light walk along the Winter Camino before boarding our boat for a private cruise on the Miño River that will take us to a lovely vineyard where we will have lunch right on the banks of the river. We will cap off the day by sampling great wines at a lookout point with the breathtaking views.

Day 4

Experiences in the Ribeira Sacra

We will start our day with a walk in an oak forest. We will admire the region's Romanesque jewels like: Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil y Santa Cristina de Ribas de Sil. We will stop at a lookout point to enjoy the beautiful views of the Sil Canyon and its vineyards, and of course, we will be sampling delicious wines at a renowned local wine cellar. After an exquisite lunch, we will go meet a local artisan who will share with us his centuries-old pottery techniques.

Day 5

Sarria (Barbadelo)- Portomarín
18.7 km / 11.6 mi

It's a wonderful day. We start our Camino! As we walk this stage, we will come across many little towns and villages like Barbadelo, Ferreiros, Vilachá, and Portomarín. We will be able to see essential monuments such as: The Church of "Santiago de Barbadelo", the Romanesque portico at the Church of Ferreiros, and the fortified church of St. Nicholas in Portomarín.

Day 6

Portomarín - Palas de Rei
24.3 km / 15 mi

We will have the opportunity to see some gorgeous oak and eucalyptus forests while passing through the charming villages of Gonzar, Ventas de Narón, Ligonde and the lovely town of Airexe. We head towards Palas de Rei.

Day 7

Palas de Rei - Boente
20.7 km / 12.9 mi

We will see the Romanesque portico of San Tirso's church. Our next destination is Palas de Rei. We will cross the border that divides the provinces of Lugo and La Coruña. We will see the church of "La Virgen de las Nieves" in Furelos and the church of Sancti Spiritus. Do you like octopus? We will be able to sample some of it at a "Pulpería" in Melide, a town that is famous for its octopus. In Melide we will also be able to see the beautiful Church of Santa Maria.

Day 8

Boente - Salceda
19.5 km / 12.1 mi

We head to Boente, home of the spectacular church of Santiago. We will continue through the lovely towns of Arzúa, Ribadiso, and Castañeda, all of these towns are very closely linked to the Camino's history. In Arzúa, we can see the chapel of "La Magdalena." We will also enjoy some of Arzúa's delicious cheese, which was given Denomination of Origin. We will continue our walk to Salceda, passing by the town of Calzada.

Day 9

Salceda - Monte do Gozo
22.9 km / 14.2 mi

We will start our walk in the beautiful villages of A Brea and A Rua. We will have the opportunity to see the hermitage of St. Irene. We head to the town of Lavacolla, known for being the town where the ancient purification ritual needed to arrive in Santiago was performed. We end at one of the Camino's most emblematic places: Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy) and enjoy a marvelous view of Santiago.

Day 10

Monte do Gozo - Santiago de Compostela
4.8 km / 2.9 mi

The day has arrived! Our journey's most exciting day!
We will walk to our final destination: Santiago's Cathedral. We are scheduled to arrive before 12:00 pm. If you wish to attend the pilgrim’s mass and perform any pilgrim rituals like hugging the Apostle Santiago, you are welcome to do so. After that, we will have a wonderful surprise.

Day 11

Day in Finisterre

We will go on a tour to Finisterre. Pilgrims have ended their Camino de Santiago at this town's famous lighthouse for centuries, where in ancient times the Non Plus Ultra gate was believed to mark the end of the known world.

In the morning, we will have a guided visit by with an expert along the old city to understand the history of Santiago and the pilgrimages.
