Portuguese Camino de Santiago Guided Tour from Lisboa to Santiago!

On our Portuguese Way Camino we travel across wild forests, beautiful vineyards, coastal cliffs and historical villas as we walk from Portugal into Spain to reach the city of Santiago de Compostela. We will spend the first day in Lisbon and then make our way to one of the largest pilgrimage centers in the world: the Sanctuary of our Lady of Fátima. Our Pilgrimage will begin in the town of Ponte de Lima from where we will walk 154 kilometers divided into 9 amazing stages. All along the way you will enjoy the best accommodations from majestic Paradores to wonderful manor houses you will fall in love with!

Means and Assistance

Private support vehicle

You will have a support vehicle throughout your Camino. You can use it if you are tired or if you don’t want to keep walking for any reason, if you want to leave or take things during your walk or if you want to change your shoes. Our van is equipped with a first aid kit, medicines, snacks, water and fruits. This vehicle will cover any unexpected circumstances.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Meet in Lisbon
Walking city visit

Our meeting point will be in the lobby of our hotel in Lisbon at 3 pm for our Portuguese Way Camino. Here we will enjoy a welcome cocktail and afterwards a guided visit through this beautiful city. In the evening we will be treated to a wonderful welcome dinner where we will sample the best in Portuguese cuisine.

Day 2

Fatima & Porto
Transfer by bus

We depart from Lisbon to journey to the biggest pilgrimage site in Portugal and one of the most significant in the world: Fátima. Known as "The World's Altar" it is always ready to welcome the Pilgrims who visit this site throughout the year. We will then continue on our way to Porto.

Day in Porto
Walking city visit

Today we will enjoy a visit in the beautiful city of Porto. We will visit a Port Wine cellar for a private tasting.

We will then continue on our way to Ponte de Lima.

Day 4

Ponte de Lima - Rubiaes

Today our Camino begins!

Ponte de Lima awaits with its amazing bridge over the Lima River, namesake of the town. This stage is considered to be the most beautiful on the whole Portuguese Way.

Day 5

Rubiaes - Tui
19 km / 11.8 mi

We will begin today's stage by crossing the beautiful Roman bridge in Rubiaes and continue our journey until we get to the fortified town of Valença do Minho, from where we will be able to see the Miño river in the distance and the city of Tui on the other side. We will cross the river via the international bridge, built in 1886, to set foot in Spain for the first time.

Day 6

Tui - O Porriño

We start in the city of Tui, the starting point of the Portuguese Camino in Galicia. During this stage, we can admire the sublime architecture on every street of Tui's historic quarter. We will traverse beautiful forest paths throughout the day. Later we travel to the charming town of Baiona.

Day 7

O Porriño - Redondela
15.6 km / 9.7 mi

On this stage we will have the pleasure of seeing the church of Santa Eulalia del Monte and the Pazo de los Marqueses in the parish of Mos, which are some of the most beautiful examples of Galician architecture in this region. We will continue our journey through peaceful forests until we arrive at the convent of Villavella in the city of Redondela. Once our stage is finished we will travel back to the town of Baiona to enjoy the rest of the day there.

Day 8

Redondela - Pontevedra
19.8 km / 12.3 mi

We will travel in our private vehicle to Redondela, finishing point of our previous stage. We will walk along the coastlines of Vigo and Pontevedra until we arrive in the city of Pontevedra, capital of the Portuguese Way in Galicia. Here we will see the sanctuary of "La Virgen Peregrina" or Pilgrim Virgin, patroness and symbol of the city.

Day 9

Pontevedra - Caldas de Reis
21.5 km / 13.3 mi

Today's stage is one of the most beautiful in the Galician section of the Portuguese Way. We will walk through vineyards, small rural hermitages and forests filled with chestnut, pine and eucalyptus trees. On our way to Caldas de Reis we will pass through Muiñada Da Barosa, a beautiful enclave with waterfalls and natural pools where we can cool off and rest a bit before continuing our journey.

Day 10

Caldas de Rei - Padrón
18.6 km / 11.6 mi

We are approaching the end of the Portuguese Way. From Caldas de Reís we cross the Umia River where we can see the natural thermal baths that the town is named after. The path continues through the beautiful Bermaña Valley and its ancient forest. Our stage ends in the emblematic town of Padrón, the place where according to tradition, the stone boat containing the remains of the Apostle arrived from Palestine.

Day 11

Padrón - O Milladoiro
18.2 km / 11.3 mi

We are getting closer to Santiago with each step. We will walk through several towns as we make our way to the historic sanctuary of A Escravitude. After this we continue toward the Chapel of San Martiño were we can see one of the most ancient Cruceiros of Galicia. Our way continues to the town of O' Milladoiro, end of today's stage and last stop before arriving in Santiago.

Day 12

O' Milladoiro - Santiago
6.4 km / 4 mi

The last stage! We pass through Agro Dos Mosteiros where we can for the first time make out the spires of Santiago's Cathedral in the distance. We are scheduled to arrive in Santiago before 12 pm, so that those who wish to attend the Pilgrim’s Mass and perform any pilgrim rituals like hugging the Apostle can do so. In the evening, we will have a wonderful farewell surprise accompanied by a delicious dinner to celebrate!

In the morning we will enjoy a guided visit through Santiago focused on the old city, where we will recall the history of the city and the pilgrimage to Santiago through its main monuments, squares and streets.
