What is the Botafumeiro?

The ´Botafumeiro´ is one of the best-known and the most popular symbols of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. It is suspended from a pulley mechanism in the dome of the roof of the church and is swung over the congregation´s heads during special masses.
