Pilgrimage to Garabandal: A life changing journey
I’d like to tell you about my experience in Garabandal. I’d never heard the name before, but a friend told me about her stay there and so she and I – along with some other friends – organized our trip to go and see the Virgin of Garabandal.
We left on July 25th with the idea of attending a Spanish Mass to celebrate the day of St James, the patron Saint of Spain. I say this because I live in France, very close to the Spanish border.
We arrived around midday, just before Mass, at the small hamlet in the foothills of a mountain. It was very picturesque and beautiful. After Mass, we headed towards the small hill where the Virgin had once appeared to four teenagers, near to a tree where visitors can still see a small idol. When we arrived, we immediately felt something special, magical; we could feel the presence of the Virgin in that place. It was incredible: I prayed a rosary, I thanked her for the many blessings that she had given me and I asked her for a few more, which she has already given me! I can’t wait until I can pray at her feet once again.
There, we had the opportunity of meeting four priests who were on their way back from walking the Camino de Santiago. They confirmed that the Virgin had appeared in that place.
And then afterwards, I went to see the film, and I met the priest who had been responsible for making it.
The Virgin’s apparitions in Garabandal are as true as her apparitions in Fatima, Lourdes, in the Rue du Bac, etc.
It was a journey that will last in my life forever.
